Darul Arqam was founded in the year 2012. With a research-driven and result-oriented methodology that focuses on shaping all-round personalities in addition to grooming leaders and achievers, our student base has grown by over 150!
We provide three models of Education system based on community need.
2012–2013 – Foundation
Darul Arqam was launched as Minnesota’s first full-time Tahfeez school. We began humbly in a rented room, then, with Allah’s help, secured our own building after obtaining the conditional use permit. This milestone came despite local opposition, which we overcame with patience, perseverance, and due process.
2014–2018 – Growth & Early Success
Darul Arqam graduated its first and second Huffāẓ. The Weekend Maktab program expanded from about 20 students to over 60, and an online Tahfeez option was introduced. By 2018, a total of 14 Huffāẓ had completed their memorization through the program.
2019–2022 – Full-Time Islamic School
Building on community trust, Darul Arqam Academy opened as a full-time Islamic school. Enrollment grew from around 20 students to nearly 80, and the Weekend Maktab expanded to more than 100 students.
2023–2025 – Strategic Transition & Support
Darul Arqam supported the launch of As-Suffah Academy as a separate organization to help meet community demand. Our staff, resources, facility access, and financial aid were extended to assist in their startup phase. Importantly, this was not a name change; Darul Arqam remained its own entity.
2025 – A New Chapter
As As-Suffah transitioned into its own facility, Darul Arqam began relaunching its own programs to continue serving families directly. With renewed capacity and focus, we are once again dedicated to fulfilling the educational and spiritual needs of our community.
Darul Arqam’s vision is to personify students with the Islamic values of honesty, peace, forbearance,justice, integrity, self-discipline, and respect for all Creation. Our Islamic school environment will guide students to become model citizens with academic excellence and Islamic values to succeed in this life and the Hereafter.
Since our inception in 2012, our focus has been on providing a congenial Islamic environment while enhancing quality of modern education; a concept that has now become a phenomenon. We have designed value-based curriculum to impart Islamic values and life skills and have setup the Central Academic Development to ensure these are properly planned and taught to the children.
Other than the regular activities, we create awareness among our students, develop leadership skills and make them Responsible citizens of the society.
These are the questions we must ask ourselves before worrying about our future. We also asked those questions ourselves when we laid the foundation of Darul Arqam Center of Excellence. Just like you, we were concerned about the future of our next generation of Ummah.
It is a great responsibility with which you entrust us when you place your child in our care. A responsibility that is quite challenging unless there is complete cooperation from all quarters.
