Sheikh Yusuf Sekuna Jawara
IMAM | QURAN & ISLAMIC STUDIES TEACHER
Sheikh Yusuf leads the Islamic Studies program at DarulArqam Academy, where he teaches Duas, Hadith, Fiqh, and builds a strong foundation in Nazirah (Qur’an reading/Qirā’ah by sight) for our students.
He holds a Master’s in Tafsīr and ‘Ulūm al-Qur’ān (Qur’anic Sciences) from Al-Wefaq International University (Niger) and a Bachelor’s in Islamic Studies from the International University of Africa (Sudan). He is certified in six Qur’anic recitation styles (riwāyāt) and fluent in Arabic and English.
With years of experience teaching and serving in Islamic institutions across West Africa and the U.S., Sheikh Yusuf brings both depth and warmth to his role. He has also authored multiple scholarly works in Qur’anic recitation and Tafsīr, reflecting his dedication to Islamic education.
His sincere dedication and calm presence make him a beloved guide for students and families alike
Br. Obaid ur Rahman
VICE PRINCIPAL & ROBOTICS/STEM PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR
Br. Obaid ur Rahman serves as the Vice Principal of Darul Arqam Academy, where he plays a key role in both academic planning and day-to-day operations. With a background in Robotics Engineering and a strong commitment to Islamic values, he ensures that the school blends modern education with traditional tarbiyah.
He holds a Master’s in Robotics Engineering from the University of Maryland and brings experience from his work in the fields of agro-robotics, STEM education, and Islamic school leadership.
Driven by a vision to refine education by bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry standards, Br. Obaid leads the STEM & Robotics Program at the school — opening doors for students to explore 21st-century skills through hands-on learning, creativity, and innovation.
Firmly rooted in Islamic values and passionate about the future of Muslim youth, he continues to build a school environment where deen and dunya grow together, Inshā’ Allah.
Mufti Syed Ahmed Khaleel
RESIDENT SCHOLAR | TAHFEEZ PROGRAM LEAD
Mufti Ahmed Khaleel leads the Full-Time Tahfeez Program at Darul Arqam. A graduate of Darul Uloom Zakariyya (South Africa), he holds Ijāzah in both Sab‘a and ‘Asharah Qirā’āt and is a certified scholar in Islamic Shariah.
With years of experience in Qur’anic instruction, community engagement, and youth guidance, he brings both scholarship and compassion to his role.
Beyond the classroom, Mufti Khaleel is committed to uplifting the community; delivering Friday sermons, hosting monthly halqāt addressing contemporary challenges, conducting fiqh classes, and providing faith-based youth counseling.
With a heart rooted in sacred knowledge and a voice that echoes the Qur’an, he continues to inspire and guide the next generation.
